The Investec Emerging Markets Debt fund has added long duration government bonds in Colombia, Chile, Mexico and Poland, Financial Times reports. The fund manager, Peter Eerdmans, along with his team is shifting focus to long duration positions.
Expecting a further drop in inflation, Eerdmans has also been buying inflation-linked bonds from Poland, Turkey and Chile. The team behind the £123.3 million Investec’s emerging markets debt fund has dipped into corporate debt, raising the fund’s exposure from 2% to about 3.5%.
