Apax Partners is in talks with U.S. video conferencing equipment maker, Polycom, to take the company private, Financial Times reports. The private equity firms potential offer is likely to value the company at more than $3 billion.
Apax is likely to make a formal bid of around $37 per share for Polycom, which reported about $331 million in cash and short-term investments at the end of 2009. Polycom has signed several strategic alliances with companies including Siemens Enterprise Communications, Juniper Networks, Avaya, Microsoft and IBM, adds Benzinga.
