Brazil’s central bank president, Henrique Meirelles, has appointed Aldo Mendes as the director of monetary policy, The Wall Street Journal reports. Mendes has replaced Mario Toros, who has resigned due to personal reasons.
Prior to this, Mendes was the president of the Alianca do Brasil insurance company. He has also served as vice president for finances, capital markets and investor relations at Banco do Brasil.
