Fairfield Greenwich Restarts NY Office

People & Companies in the News Fund of hedge funds, Fairfield Greenwich Group, has restarted its New York offices, a person familiar with the matter told Business Insider. The firm’s offices in Manhattan had been shut for several weeks, according to BI sources. However, Fairfield told BI they never shut their Third Avenue office, but instead moved their executive offices from East 52nd Street to Third Avenue, which was reportedly used as a branch office.
Fairfield suffered losses of over $7 billion in the Bernard Madoff scandal. It has given up control of four of its hedge funds and most of what was left of its business.
