ETF major, iShares, has received about two approaches from potential counter-bidders, The Financial Times reports. Private equity groups, including BC Partners, Hellman & Friedman and Apax Partners, are understood to be bidding before the June 18 deadline.
The bidders may offer about $5.2 billion for iShares. CVC Capital Partners, the private equity firm which had agreed to buy Barclays’ iShares last month, has the right to contest any counter-bid.
