The auction of credit derivatives contracts will include the option of physical delivery of the bonds,
Reuters reports.
In previous transactions, buyer and sellers had the option of settling the contracts with cash payments. Industry participants are also discussing applying the option to existing contracts and may implement a protocol among large credit derivative dealers to do the same.
Officials, such as the Federal Reserve, have expressed concerns over the physical delivery of bonds because it can cause delays in closing trade.
