New Jersey communication company, IPC Systems, will sell its command systems unit to outsourced communications company, West Corporation, for $167 million, Private Equity Online reports. The unit will be combined with a similar business within West to provide capabilities for emergency call systems.
IPC is a portfolio company of Californias Silver Lake Partners, a private equity firm, and provides systems and services to financial services firms as well as public safety, government, power, energy and utility and transportation organizations. The sale comes two years after Silver Lake acquired IPC for $800 million from GS Capital.
