The California State Teachers Retirement System is considering hiring six infrastructure managers to start investing the pension funds first $800 million allocation to the asset class, according to an agenda for the Sept. 4 investment committee meeting.
The system would appoint three managers to handle assets and another three to use for future allocations. The system has not revealed when they will issue the RFP. This comes one month after the fund approved an infrastructure allocation of 0.5% of total assets. The staff will work with Pension Consulting Alliance to create an alternative fee structure for the future managers.
