Novartis Capital has raised $5 billion in a three-part senior notes sale, The Wall Street Journal reports. The proceeds will be used to fund the takeover of a 52% stake in eye-care products maker, Alcon, from Nestle.
The size of the deal was increased from an initially proposed $4 billion. The joint bookrunning managers for the issue were Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Barclays Capital, Citigroup and Morgan Stanley.
