UBS Investment Bank has appointed William Ortner as managing director for its investment banking department, The Wall Street Journal reports. Based in New York, he will co-head structured equity capital markets (ECM) for the Americas and report to Mary Ann Deignan, head of ECM for the Americas.

Previously, he was heading structured finance at Structured Investment Management. Prior to this, he was heading equity-linked capital markets at Barclays Capital.
